Welcome

Welcome to Women Artists/Women Healing II: The Healing Power of Myth, Ritual and Celebration! In celebration of Women’s History Month, WAWH II is a four-part series of multicultural presentations, workshops, art exhibits and networking receptions presented by CentroNía’s Community Schools Program.

Hosted every Saturday in March, 2010 WAWH II brings together primarily women artists, writers, healers and activists to focus on healing practices in dance/movement; theatre/storytelling; writing & art, and empowerment & activism.

Free and open to the public, WAWH II features exhibitions of visual art, resource information, scholarship and discussions, networking and meet-up opportunities, as well as light refreshments. Join us each Saturday from 12:15pm – 4:30pm at CentroNía!  (1420 Columbia Rd. NW, Washington D.C. 20009. Conveniently located 1/2 block from the Columbia Heights /Green Line Metro Stop.)

 

Women Artists/Women Healing II is produced by Elizabeth Bruce, author of ‘And Silence Left the Place,’ stage actor, playwright of ‘Sheila’s Iron,’ and educator. The series is presented in partnership with CentroNía’s Community Schools Program headed by Timothea Howard, and media partner Ironcutter Media, LLC, a woman owned firm headed by Alivia Tagliaferri.
